Vernatsch
Due to its high yield, the grape variety Vernatsch was for a long time one of the most cultivated grape varieties in South Tyrol. However, due to the increasing focus on quality and less on quantity, Vernatsch has lost importance in viticulture. In addition, this grape variety thrives best on the Pergel system. This cultivation system requires significantly more manual labor, which is why it is hardly ever used in new vineyards.
